Zara flew around the bedroom packing clothes. It would be exciting to finally get off the boat. They wouldn’t be saved and on their way home, but at least they’d be on solid ground. She threw on a pair of shorts and a bikini top since the air was so humid. She was glad she’d brought so many swimsuits with the heat on the boat growing to unbearable temperatures during the day. She grabbed her bag and went up the stairs to find Marley.

“I have the lifeboat ready to go,” Marley announced when Zara arrived at her side. They’d worked for the past hour gathering things they would need on land. “What if it’s not inhabited?”

“Then we can camp out at least on dry land. This boat was stocked with all the essentials. I have a tent we can use. Once we’ve found a safe spot, I’ll shift and explore it. My wolf will pick up scents of animals and if there are any humans around. My nose is stronger when I’m in my animal form.”

Zara nodded and followed Marley to the swim deck where the lifeboat was tethered to the yacht. Marley helped her on it and took the bags she’d packed and stored them in the front of the small emergency boat. Zara turned to the yacht, slightly relieved to get off it, but yet it held so many memories she was a slightly sad to be leaving their little love cove.

Marley settled on the boat and untied them from the yacht. She reached for the oars and began the slow trip to the island.

“It looks beautiful,” Zara said, shading her eyes with her hand. She took in the island as it they got closer. Thankfully, with Marley’s shifter strength, she wasn’t tiring.

“An island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean would have to be.” Marley chuckled, getting into a rhythm with her strokes.

Anticipation grew in Zara’s chest as they made the trip. She fell silent, not wanting to distract Marley from getting them to safety. She was a nervous being this far out in the ocean in an even smaller vessel than the yacht. She turned her head and was barely able to make out the name of the yacht on the side.

Dream Weaver.

She smiled, thinking she had been awoken on the ship. She now looked forward to weaving her dreams into reality. Her gaze met Marley’s, and her heart slammed into her chest.

Zara loved her, and she needed to find the perfect way to tell her.

Marley’s tanned skin was highlighted by her pink bikini top. She, too, had chosen to wear shorts. Her hair was pulled up in a high bun, with strands escaping and blowing in the wind. Her toned muscles flexed with each movement, making Zara’s breathing slow down.

She swallowed hard, knowing this was not the time for her to be getting aroused watching Marley. From what she could tell, they’d been on the boat for at least a month. She released a deep breath, readying herself for the second leg of their adventure.
